OCOOPA Recalls 1.5 Million Hand Warmers After One Fatality and Numerous Injuries

OCOOPA Direct, in collaboration with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has recalled approximately 1.5 million rechargeable lithium-ion battery hand warmers. The batteries can overheat and ignite, creating severe fire and burn hazards. The company has received 1,480 reports of overheating, leading to 15 fires, 350 burn injuries, and one reported fatality in February 2026. Consumers are urged to immediately discontinue use and contact OCOOPA Direct for a full refund.
