Study in The Lancet Highlights Major Disparities in India's Organ Transplant System

A new study published in The Lancet Regional Health–Southeast Asia reveals that India meets only a fraction of its organ transplant needs, despite performing the world's third-highest number of solid organ transplants. The research found that a small group of states accounts for a disproportionate share of transplant activity, and women are significantly underrepresented as recipients.
