FDA Approves Second Blood Test, SimpleScreen CRC, for Colorectal Cancer Screening

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Freenome's SimpleScreen CRC blood test, providing a new screening option for average-risk adults to detect colorectal cancer. This marks the second blood test approved for this purpose, aiming to increase screening uptake among millions of eligible Americans who may avoid traditional methods. Clinical studies showed the test detected approximately 8 out of 10 colorectal cancers.
