A new target trial emulation published in JAMA Network Open found that early initiation of remdesivir was associated with a significantly lower one-year risk of all-cause graft loss and cardiovascular events in kidney transplant recipients with symptomatic COVID-19. This provides strong causal evidence for antiviral use in this vulnerable population.
