A medical breakthrough has enabled a successful kidney transplant for a highly sensitized patient who previously had no suitable options. This was achieved using the drug Teclistamab, typically used for blood cancer, which eliminates antibody-producing cells that would otherwise reject the foreign organ. The results were recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
