U.S. FDA Grants Orphan Drug Designation to Zai Lab's Zocilurtatug Pelitecan for Neuroendocrine Carcinomas

Zai Lab Limited announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Orphan Drug Designation (ODD) to zocilurtatug pelitecan (Zoci), a DLL3-targeting antibody-drug conjugate, for the treatment of neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs). The European Medicines Agency (EMA) also granted ODD for pulmonary NECs. This designation provides incentives to encourage the development of drugs for rare diseases.
