FDA Expected to Announce Decision on Moderna's mRNA Seasonal Flu Vaccine Today

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expected to make a final decision today, August 5, 2026, regarding Moderna's investigational mRNA seasonal influenza vaccine, mRNA-1010 (mFLUSIVA). An FDA advisory committee previously voted unanimously in favor of the vaccine's benefit-risk profile for adults aged 50 and older. If approved, mRNA-1010 would be the first mRNA-based seasonal influenza vaccine licensed in the U.S., potentially available for the 2026/2027 flu season.
