AI-Powered Titration Significantly Reduces Hospital Oxygen Overshoot

A new study published in JAMA Internal Medicine indicates that artificial intelligence (AI) titration can reduce hospital oxygen overshoot by two-thirds in adults receiving low-flow oxygen. This is a significant finding for patient safety, as excessive oxygen exposure has been linked to higher mortality in pooled trials. The automated system maintained oxygen saturation within the target range 85% of the time, compared to 63% with manual titration.
