FDA Poised to Decide on First mRNA Flu Vaccine

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is currently evaluating Moderna's mFlusiva, the first flu vaccine utilizing mRNA technology, similar to COVID-19 shots. A trial involving over 40,000 participants indicated that mFlusiva is safe and provides stronger protection than traditional flu shots for adults aged 50 and older. Independent FDA advisers unanimously recommended its approval in June, citing its potential for quicker reformulation and production to adapt to new flu strains.
