Updated 2026 hyperlipidemia guidelines from the American Heart Association (AHA) and American College of Cardiology (ACC) have significantly expanded eligibility for lipid-lowering therapy. The new guidelines increase the proportion of adults aged 20–79 without established cardiovascular disease eligible for treatment from 41.3% to 54.6%, representing a 13.3 percentage-point increase.
