Victory Medical Center Pharmacy is voluntarily recalling certain lots of VMC Compounded Glutathione 200 mg/mL Multi-Dose Vials to the patient level. The recall is due to pharmacy testing identifying elevated bacterial endotoxin levels, which could lead to significant medical events such as fevers, hypotension, inflammatory reactions, anaphylactic shock, and death, especially with injectable products. The pharmacy has received reports of adverse events including fever, chills, severe headache, nausea, vomiting, and tachycardia.
