U.S. health officials are investigating a Salmonella outbreak tied to Mexican jalapeño peppers, which has affected 345 individuals in 27 states, leading to 36 hospitalizations. Supplier Coast Citrus Distributors has recalled peppers sent to restaurants, including Chipotle Mexican Grill and QDOBA, both of which have ceased serving the affected product.
