FDA Approves Moderna's mFLUSIVA, the First mRNA Flu Vaccine, for Adults 50 and Older

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Moderna's mFLUSIVA vaccine for individuals aged 50 and above. This marks the first approval of an influenza vaccine utilizing mRNA technology, previously used for COVID-19 inoculations. Late-stage trial results indicate the new vaccine is approximately 27% more effective at preventing serious infection compared to currently available flu vaccines.
