Air Quality Health Advisory Issued for New York City Metro Region Due to Elevated Ozone Levels

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Department of Health (DOH) have issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the New York City Metro region for Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 11 a.m. through 11 p.m., due to elevated ozone levels. Vulnerable populations, including individuals with respiratory diseases, young children, the elderly, and those exercising outdoors, are advised to limit strenuous outdoor physical activity during this period.
