Phase 3 PSMAddition Trial Results Published in The Lancet Show Radiographic Progression-Free Survival Benefit with Lutetium Lu 177 Vipivotide Tetraxetan in Metastatic Prostate Cancer

Results from the phase 3 PSMAddition trial (NCT04720157) have been published in The Lancet, indicating that adding lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan (Pluvicto) to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and an androgen receptor pathway inhibitor (ARPI) significantly extended radiographic progression-free survival (rPFS) in patients with PSMA-positive metastatic androgen pathway modulation-naïve or -sensitive prostate cancer. This research, which led to FDA approval of the therapy in late July 2026, offers a new treatment option for a large proportion of metastatic prostate cancer patients.
