Colorado Issues Action Day Alert for Elevated Ozone and Wildfire Smoke in Front Range

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Regional Air Quality Council have issued an "Action Day Alert" for the Front Range Urban Corridor, including the Denver-Boulder area, Fort Collins, and Greeley. Elevated levels of ozone and wildfire smoke are expected through Sunday afternoon, August 9, 2026. Unusually sensitive individuals are advised to consider reducing prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion due to moderate air quality for both ozone and particulate matter (PM2.5).
