Mississippi Health Department Cautions Public on Vibrio Infections
The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has issued a warning regarding Vibrio bacteria, prevalent in warm coastal waters from May through October. So far this year, 29 Vibrio cases have been reported to MSDH, including three cases of *Vibrio vulnificus*, with no associated deaths. The department advises precautions such as avoiding brackish or salt water with open wounds and thoroughly cooking seafood.
