Early Antiviral Treatment Reduces ICU Admissions for Hospitalized Children with Flu, Study Finds

A new study published in JAMA Pediatrics, led by experts at the University of Colorado Anschutz, found that children hospitalized with influenza who received early antiviral medication (oseltamivir) were 31% less likely to require intensive care unit (ICU) admission and had shorter hospital stays. This research provides strong real-world evidence supporting national recommendations for prompt antiviral treatment in hospitalized pediatric flu cases.
