FDA Announces Recall of Jalapeños Amid Salmonella Outbreak Investigation

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has updated its investigation into a Salmonella outbreak, announcing downstream recalls of fresh jalapeños from Sinaloa, Mexico, distributed by Coast Citrus Distributors, and products containing these jalapeños. Taylor Fresh Foods has recalled multiple products with 'Best If Used By' dates up to and including August 16, 2026, distributed across numerous states. The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) also issued a public health alert for meat and poultry products containing the potentially contaminated jalapeños.
