Health departments in Arkansas and Missouri are actively monitoring a rise in cyclosporiasis cases, a foodborne illness affecting the stomach and intestines. Arkansas has reported 252 statewide cases, with 24 in Boone County and 11 in Carroll County. Missouri has 1,095 cases, ranking third nationally, including 43 in the Springfield Metro area. The illness has been linked to recent food recalls, prompting local health departments to ensure recalled products are removed from retail.
