CDC Updates Investigation on Multistate Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Jalapeño Peppers

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and public health officials are continuing their investigation into a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections. Epidemiologic and traceback data indicate that jalapeño peppers from Sinaloa, Mexico, distributed by Coast Citrus Distributors, are a likely source of the Salmonella Javiana contamination. Consumers are advised to check for recalled jalapeño peppers and avoid eating, selling, or serving them.
