Zealand Pharma Announces Positive Phase 3 Results for Survodutide in Obesity and MASLD, Advances Petrelintide

Zealand Pharma has announced positive results from its Phase 3 SYNCHRONIZE™-1 and SYNCHRONIZE™-MASLD trials for survodutide, a glucagon/GLP-1 receptor dual agonist. The trials showed up to 16.6% weight loss in people with overweight or obesity and liver fat normalization in 6 out of 10 participants with MASLD (Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease) with inflammation and/or fibrosis. The company also confirmed its decision to advance petrelintide, an amylin analog, into Phase 3 trials in the second half of 2026, following positive Phase 2 results demonstrating double-digit weight loss with a tolerability profile comparable to placebo.
