Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency Issues Nationwide Malaria Alert

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) has issued a nationwide malaria alert after detecting malaria protozoa genes in Anopheles mosquitoes collected from high-risk areas in Gyeonggi Province, including Paju City and Yeoncheon County. This detection indicates a heightened risk of malaria infection through mosquito bites. The KDCA urges local governments to intensify mosquito control measures and advises residents in risk zones to avoid outdoor activities at night and wear protective clothing.
