WHO Reports Over 900 Attacks on Healthcare in Conflict Zones in 2026, Averaging More Than Four Per Day

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that attacks on healthcare facilities, workers, and patients in conflict zones, including Ukraine and Gaza, have continued to rise in 2026, reaching an average of over four per day. Between January and August this year, more than 900 attacks resulted in at least 900 deaths and over 1,400 injuries, severely disrupting healthcare services and responses to disease outbreaks.
