Research from the London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute, published in The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics, indicates that expanded genetic testing can identify new treatment options for nearly one-third of cancer patients. The study of 554 patients found that next-generation sequencing uncovered genetic changes often missed by standard testing, making patients eligible for therapies not typically considered for their specific cancer type.
