Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Shows Promise in Delaying Metastatic Prostate Cancer Progression
New international Phase III trial results, published in The Lancet, indicate that adding Pluvicto (177Lu-PSMA-617) to standard androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and androgen receptor pathway inhibitor (ARPI) treatment significantly reduced the risk of disease progression or death in patients with newly diagnosed PSMA-positive metastatic prostate cancer. The PSMAddition trial, sponsored by Novartis, demonstrated a 28% reduction in disease progression or death risk with the triple therapy, while maintaining a manageable safety profile.
