HHS Requests Public Feedback on Federal Vaccine Recommendation Framework

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking public comments on how federal vaccine recommendations are categorized, evaluated, and communicated. This review, prompted by a presidential executive order, supports the HHS Task Force on Safer Childhood Vaccines. HHS is asking if existing categories (routine, risk-based, shared clinical decision-making) are adequate or if new ones are needed. Public comments are due by September 20, 2026.
