A new study of over 500,000 older adults indicates that those vaccinated with Shingrix for shingles were 24% less likely to receive a dementia diagnosis over four years. Researchers estimate this could prevent one dementia case for every 17 vaccinated individuals. This finding suggests a potential new benefit for the recombinant shingles vaccine beyond preventing shingles.
