FDA Seeks Public Comment on International Scheduling of Novel Psychoactive Substances

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is requesting public comments on the international scheduling of several novel psychoactive substances, including Clobromazolam, Cychlorphine, Desalkylgidazepam, Ethylbromazolam, Etomethazene, Spirochlorphine, Etomidate, and Medetomidine. Some of these substances, like Clobromazolam, have been detected in illicit drug mixtures and pose significant public health concerns due to their serious risk and lack of recognized therapeutic use. Comments are being accepted until September 3, 2026.
