Health Canada Recalls Med-Rx IV Kits Due to Drip Chamber Discoloration

Health Canada has issued a Type II medical device recall for select lots of the Med-Rx Medication/Primary Solution Administration Kit, manufactured by Canadian Hospital Specialties Ltd. (CHS). The recall was initiated after discoloration was observed inside the drip chamber component of the IV sets used in these kits. Healthcare facilities are advised to continue using the products as intended unless further guidance is issued, but the recall highlights a patient safety concern.
