FDA Cautions Against Injecting Dietary Supplement Grade Glutathione Due to Adverse Reactions

The FDA has reminded compounding pharmacies not to use dietary supplement grade glutathione for injectable drugs, following reports of at least 30 patients experiencing adverse events. Symptoms included fever, chills, pain, dizziness, and sepsis-like reactions, consistent with excessive endotoxin levels, with some cases requiring hospitalization.
