Papua New Guinea Completes Initial Health Security Assessment with WHO

Papua New Guinea, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, has concluded its first Joint External Evaluation (JEE) from August 24-28, 2026. This assessment evaluates the nation's capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to public health threats under international health regulations. The findings will inform a National Action Plan for Health Security, prioritizing investments in essential health services, immunization, and timely information sharing across sectors to enhance national preparedness.
