Results from a Phase 1 clinical trial, also led by Cleveland Clinic and published in The Lancet, show that a single injection of Kylo-11, a gene silencing therapy, reduced lipoprotein(a) levels by approximately 95-97% in patients receiving the highest doses, with effects sustained for 48 weeks. Elevated lipoprotein(a) is a largely genetic and previously untreatable risk factor for heart disease and stroke.
