First-in-Human Gene Silencing Therapy Shows Significant Reduction in Heart Disease Risk Marker with Single Injection
Findings from a Phase 1 clinical trial, led by Cleveland Clinic and published in The Lancet, indicate that a single injection of Kylo-11, a long-acting gene silencing therapy, significantly reduced lipoprotein(a) levels. The highest doses achieved approximately 95-97% reductions, which were maintained for 48 weeks. Lipoprotein(a) is recognized as a key driver of heart disease and stroke, and has historically been considered an untreatable risk factor.
