Medtronic Recalls Esophageal pH Monitoring Capsules Due to Risk of Serious Injuries

Medtronic has recalled certain Bravo CF pH monitoring capsules due to a risk of serious injuries, including esophageal perforation, airway obstruction, and blood loss. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reported 184 serious injuries associated with the issue, where the capsule may fail to attach to the esophagus or detach from the delivery device as intended. Healthcare providers are advised to immediately identify and quarantine affected devices.
