FDA Approves Four Updated COVID-19 Vaccines for the 2026-27 Season

The FDA has approved four monovalent COVID-19 vaccines for the upcoming 2026-27 season, all targeting the XFG variant, a descendant of JN.1, to better match circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants. These vaccines are approved for adults aged 65 years or older, and for younger patients with increased risk factors for severe COVID-19.
