Targeted Lead Placement in Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Shows No Improved Outcomes in Heart Failure Patients

Results from the DANISH-CRT trial, published in The Lancet and presented at the ESC Congress 2026, indicate that targeted placement of the left ventricular lead in patients with heart failure undergoing cardiac resynchronization therapy did not improve outcomes, such as death or first unplanned hospitalization for heart failure, compared to standard lead placement.
