FDA Approves BESREMi as First New Treatment for Essential Thrombocythemia in Nearly 30 Years

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved BESREMi (ropeginterferon alfa-2b-njft) for the treatment of adults with essential thrombocythemia (ET), a rare blood cancer characterized by an overproduction of platelets. This marks the first new FDA-approved treatment for ET in nearly three decades and is applicable regardless of a patient's genetic profile or disease status.
