FDA Approves Updated XFG-Targeted COVID-19 Vaccines from Multiple Manufacturers

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved updated 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, Sanofi, and Takeda. These reformulated vaccines target the XFG variant and are intended for the upcoming fall respiratory virus season. The CDC has not yet issued its formal recommendation for these updated vaccines.
