IDSA Updates Guidelines for Treating Antimicrobial-Resistant Gram-Negative Infections

The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) has released updated guidance for treating antimicrobial-resistant gram-negative infections. The new guidelines incorporate data on antibiotics approved since 2024, including cefepime-enmetazobactam, gepotidacin, IV fosfomycin, pivmecillinam, and sulopenem-probenecid, and compare agents for specific infections like those caused by New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase–producing Enterobacterales.
