New Sleep Apnea Pill Shows Promise in Phase 3 Trial

A once-nightly oral medication, AD109, significantly reduced breathing interruptions by approximately 44% in a large phase 3 clinical trial for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The study, presented at the 2026 ATS International Conference and published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, also showed improvements in oxygen levels and disease severity. This drug could offer an alternative for patients unable to tolerate CPAP.
