The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved PARSOL® Shield (bemotrizinol, BEMT) for the U.S. market, marking the first new sunscreen active ingredient approved in the country in over 25 years. Developed by dsm-firmenich, this approval is expected to enhance UV protection options for American consumers and simplify global sunscreen formulations. Clinical studies involving nearly 500 participants demonstrated its efficacy, tolerability, and safety.
