New Oral Medication Shows Promise for Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Phase 3 Trial

A once-nightly pill, AD109, significantly reduced breathing interruptions by approximately 44% in a major Phase 3 clinical trial for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The drug, which strengthens airway muscles, also improved oxygen levels and disease severity, offering a potential new treatment option for individuals unable to tolerate CPAP. The study was presented at the 2026 ATS International Conference and published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
