The common hormonal condition previously known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) has been renamed to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS). This change, announced earlier this year and highlighted as September marks awareness month for the condition, aims to address misconceptions, as not all affected women necessarily have ovarian cysts, and to better reflect the hormonal, metabolic, and ovarian effects of the condition.
