Novel siRNA Therapy Shows Deep and Durable Reduction in Lp(a) Levels in Phase 1 Trial

A Phase 1 trial of a novel long-duration small interfering RNA (siRNA) agent, Kylo-11, demonstrated profound and extremely durable reductions in serum lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) levels, a key cardiovascular risk factor. Published in The Lancet, the study found that a single 600-mg dose led to a 97% median reduction from baseline at 48 weeks, with the drug being well tolerated. This finding could offer a long-acting treatment option for elevated Lp(a), which is strongly linked to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
