UK Regulator Suspends Rare-Disease Drug Tavneos for New Patients Due to Unreliable Data

Britain's medicines regulator has suspended the use and sale of Amgen's rare-disease drug Tavneos (Avacopan Vifor) for new patients. The decision was made after the main study supporting the drug's approval was deemed unreliable. Tavneos is used to treat severe autoimmune diseases causing inflammation in small blood vessels, which can damage kidneys and lungs.
