Ireland's Health Service Fined Record Amount for Unsecure Medical Record Storage

Ireland's Health Service Executive (HSE) has been issued a record €645,000 fine by the country's Data Protection Commission for severe failings in medical record storage. An inspection revealed records in "profound disarray" and neglect across 12 sites, including disused bathrooms and a turf shed, with some documents contaminated by animal droppings or destroyed by mold.
