European Medicines Agency Initiates Pilot for Data Sharing on Alternative Methods to Animal Testing

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has launched a pilot program for voluntary data exchange to encourage the use of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) as alternatives to animal testing in drug development. This initiative aims to foster regulatory acceptance of NAMs by allowing drug developers to share data and receive feedback from European regulatory experts, ultimately strengthening the use of scientifically robust alternatives in regulatory decision-making.
