Leading U.S. Medical Groups Issue Updated Vaccine Recommendations for Flu, COVID-19, and RSV

A coalition of major U.S. medical organizations, including the American Medical Association and American Academy of Pediatrics, has released updated guidance for flu, COVID-19, and RSV vaccinations for the upcoming 2026-2027 winter season. This guidance aims to provide clear, credible, and science-based recommendations to help patients and doctors make informed decisions, filling a gap left by the absence of updated federal advice. The recommendations cover annual influenza shots for individuals aged six months and older, updated COVID-19 vaccines for healthy adults, young children, and pregnant women, and RSV immunizations for older adults, pregnant women, and infants younger than eight months.
