CDC Recommends Updated COVID-19 and Annual Flu Vaccines for Everyone Six Months and Older
Following the FDA's authorization of updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, CDC Director Mandy Cohen recommended that everyone aged six months and older receive both the updated COVID-19 vaccine and a yearly flu vaccine this fall. The CDC notes that while there is significant COVID-19 activity, it is not currently leading to increased emergency department visits, hospitalizations, or deaths. Additionally, RSV vaccination is recommended for individuals 75 and older, and for those 60-74 who are at increased risk.
